Originally the Methodist Central Hall, Jubilee Central was first opened in 1960 and incorporated a much older shop frontage opening onto King Edward Street.

The venue was bought by Jubilee Church, a local charity in 2013 who have since modernised the building and rapidly gaining a reputation for being a leading venue in the city.

Jubilee Church is heavily involved in supporting the most in need in the city and use revenue from the venue hire to invest back into the local community supporting the projects below:

Launched in 2014, Jubilee Life College aims to give people the tools to live better lives and positively contribute to the local community through the provision of informal education. Running a variety of courses each term, Jubilee Life College aims to improve future prospects for each student whether that is improving confidence, developing social skills or gaining qualifications. Learners come from a variety of background and situations including the long term unemployed, those with mental health issues, ex-offenders and those experiencing social exclusion.

By providing free, easy to access courses, the project aims to reach those who are most marginalised by society and help support them back into being part of the local community.

In January 2020, Jubilee Church opened an Education Centre which provides alternative education provision for those who are struggling in school.

In partnership, with Transforming Lives for Good (TLG), a national charity, TLG Hull is part of a growing network of schools supporting those who have been excluded, or are at risk of exclusion and aims to address individual needs of the young people attending, helping them to reintegrate back into school and then move in to further education or employment.
